Lapix is a free tool to create, edit and save images using the screen of your touch smart-phone with Symbian 5th edition OS.
You can find in Lapix different tools and options:
- Over 16 millions colors using the RGB model

The LAPIX is the Cyclops Project´s Laboratory dedicated to R&D on new technologies for image data visualization, analysis and immersive collaboration. It is located at the Computer Sciences and Statistics Department - INE - of the Technology Centrer - CTC - at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and part of UFSC´s educational and research infrastructure. LAPIX operates in close cooperation with the LISHA - Laboratory for Software and Hardware Integration, UFSC´s oldest and most traditional CS Lab.
The main research areas of the LAPIX are:
* Man-machine interaction models;
* Advanced interactive medical imaging concepts;
* Virtual radiological diagnostic environments and visualization engines;
* Immersive collaborative environments for medical diagnostic support;
* Innovative 3D and 4D data structures for better representation and visualization of anatomic structures;
* Mechanic modelling of organic tissue behavior and surgical devices;
* Surgical simulation;
* Novel methods for intelligent image analysis and interpretation;
The LAPIX is structured in three main
research groups:
* Medical Image and Signal Analysis;
* Man-Machine Interaction and Immersive Collaboration;
* Graphic Computing and Spatial Models;
The general R&D philosophy adopted here is to develop these Image and Signal Processing solutions based on a common DICOM compliant image processing platform, the Cyclops Medical Station (MS Windows) and Cyclops Medical Images Browser (Unix, Linux, MS-Windows) software plattforms, enabling the seamless integration of these solutions into any already installed PACS reality and generating a large library of image processing methods that can be reused on new problems.
